SW treats plain text in much the same way as any other word processor, following the standard Windows conventions mathlab for inserting, deleting, selecting, cutting, copying, pasting, and drag/drop. Text and math flow freely on screen---there is no separate equation editor. As a result, you can search and replace within text and mathematics.

You can apply a variety of "decorations" to your text and math, including those found in the decorations dialog box:

By default, mathematics is shown in red on the screen. This feature makes it easy to discern and read the mathematics and also makes clear whether punctuation is or is not part of the mathematics. You can change the various screen colors to match your taste. Here is the dialog box used to modify the on-screen colors.
